Nassau Man Robbed Cell Phone Store At Gunpoint: Police

In addition, police say he also burglarized a home and a jewelry store.

A Hempstead man was arrested yesterday and charged with multiple robberies, including robbing a cell phone store at gunpoint.

According to police, Latise Eady, 27, of Maple Avenue, entered a Verizon store at 13 Front St., Hempstead, at 4:35 p.m. on July 29, 2019. Police say Eady pulled out a handgun and ordered the employees and customers to the floor. He then forced one employee to open a safe, police said, and stole an assortment of Apple iPhones. He then fled with the merchandise, police said.

Police arrested Eady on Wednesday.

During the investigation, Nassau County and Garden City detectives say they determined Eady was responsible for other burglaries. On Sept. 11, 2019, police say he broke into a home in Hempstead and stole various items and clothing. On Oct. 9, 2019, police say he broke into H.L. Gross and Bros. Jewelers in Garden City and stole jewelry.

Eady is charged with second-degree robbery and two counts of second-degree burglary. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hemsptead.
