Nassau Police ID Woman Killed In Shooting
One woman was killed and another injured in the shooting early Saturday morning.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — Nassau County police have identified a woman who was shot to death in Hempstead over the weekend.
According to police, officers received multiple notifications for shots fired through the county's ShotSpotter gunfire detection system at 12:06 a.m. Saturday. Officers responded to Martin Luther King Drive, where they found two women, ages 28 and 29, who had been shot.
Both women were taken to a nearby hospital. The 28-year-old died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The 29-year-old was in stable condition. Police identified the 28-year-old as Thiasia Williams, of Amityville.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous and you cold receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
