Nassau Police Searching For Man Who Robbed Hempstead Bank

Police say the man passed a teller a note demanding money, and then made off with the cash.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Nassau County police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Hempstead Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, the man entered the TD Bank located at 252 Peninsula Blvd. at 3:15 p.m. He handed the teller a note demanding money, and the teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. The man then fled in an unknown direction.

The robber was about 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a stocky build.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
