Nassau Woman Tried to Smuggle Drugs Into Prison: Police
The 32-year-old faces several charges.
A 32-year-old Roosevelt woman is accused of trying to smuggle drugs into Sing Sing Correctional Facility, State Police said.
Lacieta S. Winfield was arrested on Monday after she entered the facility located in Ossining to visit an inmate and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, marijuana and buprenorphine hydrochloride, police said.
Winfield was charged with second degree promoting prison contraband, two counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth degree criminal possession of marijuana. She was issued appearance tickets directing her to appear in the Town of Ossining Court on Thursday.
