NCPD Police Car and Civilian Vehicle Collide

A Nassau County Police vehicle and a civilian car were involved in an automobile accident on Friday morning in Garden City, according to the Nassau County and Garden City Police Departments.

Garden City Police Inspector Kenneth Jackson said that the GCPD received a call around 10:59 a.m. for a vehicular accident at the intersection of County Seat Drive and Court House Drive. The Garden City Police arrived on the scene after the Nassau County Police, he said.

“It was technically in the Garden City jurisdiction, but it was a county car on a county road," Jackson said.  

The NCPD assumed control of the accident. A spokesperson for the Nassau County Police said that one minor injury was reported. She added that she didn’t believe the police officer was injured.

“We don’t have any confirmation who was injured yet,” the spokesperson said.
