Hempstead man took checks and deposited them in his account before stealing debit card from same victim, cops said.

A Hempstead man faces charges for forging checks and stealing more than $12,000 from a single victim, according to Nassau County Police.
Tyrone Pyatt, 27, stole two checks from a 60-year-old woman, forged her signature, and deposited them in his own account, police said. He also stole the woman’s debit card and made more than $4,700 in purchases, cops said.
In total, Pyatt stole more than $12,000 from the unidentified victim, police said.

Special Operations officers located and charged Pyatt on Wednesday with third-degree grand larceny and two counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument. He was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
