One Of Three Armed Jewelry Store Robbers Nabbed: Police

Police say the three went into the store and had the employees give them jewelry. One was caught trying to flee.

Police managed to arrest one member of an armed robbery trio as they fled a jewelry store in Floral Park Saturday afternoon.

According to police, Keisha Payton, 24, of Bethel Loop, Brooklyn, entered Atelier Jewelers, located at 10 Woodbine Court, along with two unidentified men. Police say the two men pulled out handguns and demanded jewelry from the employees, and then all three fled the store.

Payton was caught by Floral Park Police as she fled the store. The two men fled in an unknown direction.

The first man was black, 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with an average build, wearing dark clothing and a black mask. The second man was also black, 6 feet tall, with a thin build, wearing dark clothes and a black mask. No one was injured.

Payton is charged with first-degree robbery. She was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
