Pair Zip-Tied Nassau Store Owners Before Emptying Register

BREAKING: The owners were left in the basement while the robbers made off with all the cash.

Two men tied up a pair of store owners during a robbery in Hempstead Tuesday night.

According to detectives, two men, who were wearing masks covering their faces and gloves, entered Essence Beauty Supply, at 253 Fulton Ave. in Hempstead, at 7:30 p.m. and confronted the owners, a 62-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man. The robbers forced them into the basement of the store and zip-tied their hands and feet.

After being freeing themselves and heading upstairs, the store owners saw that the register had been emptied. The owners were unable to describe the robbers. They were unharmed.
