Garden City, N.Y. - Members of the Adelphi University athletic department have pledged to dive into the frigid waters of Long Beach to help raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation as part of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee Panther Plunge campaign. The Plunge is scheduled for the morning of February 3 and participants will being accepting donations on Monday, December 3.
Donations can be made at the front desk of the athletic department office in the Center for Recreation and Sports. Supporters can place their donations in jars labeled specifically for each participant. Jars will be open until after finals week, close for the Holiday break and re-open at the beginning of the spring semester.

Gloria O'Connor (Field Hockey)
Gordon Purdie (Men's Lacrosse/SAAC) and Tracie Thomson (Athletic Training)

Since inception, the NCAA Division II has raised more than $1.9 million in support of the Make-A-Wish mission. All are working toward the same cause – to grant the most heartfelt wish of every eligible child in the United States.
