Parking Lot Robbery; Woman's Pocketbook Ripped Off Shoulder: Police
It happened Monday afternoon in East Garden City, police said.
EAST GARDEN CITY, NY — A robbery took place on Monday afternoon in East Garden City.
The female victim, 53, exited her vehicle in the parking lot at 600 Old Country Road and was approached by an unknown man, police said.
The suspect, ripped the woman's pocketbook from her shoulder, breaking the strap, before fleeing on Stewart Avenue in an older model grey BMW, authorities said.

An iPhone, credit cards and cash were in the pocketbook. No injuries were reported.
