Pedestrian Struck While Crossing Jericho Turnpike In Garden City Park: NCPD

Police say the male pedestrian was crossing outside of a crosswalk.

GARDEN CITY PARK, NY — A pedestrian was struck while crossing Jericho Turnpike on Wednesday night in Garden City Park, police said.

Nassau County police said a 44-year-old man was crossing outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2016 Ford at approximately 7:20 p.m.

The car was being driven by a 58-year-old man westbound on Jericho Turnpike in the vicinity of Nassau Boulevard, NCPD said.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, police said.

The driver remained at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing, NCPD said.
