LI Rep. Kathleen Rice Calls For Rudy Giuliani To Be Disbarred
The Congresswoman claims that Giuliani's conduct has shown that he needs to be investigated, and possibly disbarred.

Long Island Congresswoman Kathleen Rice, the former Nassau County District Attorney, penned a letter to the New York State Attorney Grievance Committee call for an investigation, and possible disbarrment, of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is President Donald Trump's personal attorney.
In her letter, Rice claims that Giuliani's conduct on television and other media has demonstrated violations of the professional conduct rules that attorneys need to abide by.
"Mr. Giuliani's comments in the media alone provide a substantial basis to believe that he has repeatedly and egregiously engaged in conduct that adversely reflects on his honesty, trustworthiness and fitness as a lawyer, and taken actions involving dishonesty, deceit and misrepresentation in violation of the New York State Rules of Professional Conduct, which I believe warrant disbarment," Rice wrote to the committee. "His brazen obstruction of the pending Congressional impeachment inquiry now requires this investigation as he has not only violated the rules, but also his oath to support the United States Constitution."

Rice, a Democrat, is the former Nassau County District Attorney, and is herself an attorney licensed in New York. She, like Giuliani, is also a former federal prosecutor.
In her letter, Rice says the committee needs to investigate to see if Giuliani also advised his client, President Trump, to break the law and interfere and stonewall Congressional investigations.

"Mr. Giuliani claims to be the President's 'personal attorney,' but instead it appears he serves as Mr. Trump's TV spokesman and his campaign's international hatchet man, while hiding behind completely unsupportable claims of attorney-client and executive privilege," Rice wrote.
Rice also alleges that Giuliani's refusal to comply with subpoenas in the ongoing impeachment inquiry in the house is another violation of the rules that he swore to uphold as an attorney.
"It is unacceptable for any attorney to use a law license as a sword to cause harm to our democratic system and a shield from accountability for misconduct at the highest levels of our government," Rice wrote.
