Robbery At CVS; Suspect Threatens Worker With Knife: Police

WESTBURY, NY — A Westbury man was taken into custody for a Tuesday afternoon robbery.

According to Nassau police, Ruben Moya-Zapata, 36, robbed the CVS on Old Country Road.

A male employee confronted Moya-Zapata, who had placed items into a basket and exited without paying. Moya-Zapata threatened to stab the worker with a knife, authorities said.

Officers were able to locate Moya-Zapata and arrest him without incident. He is charged with first-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and petit larceny. He was expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
