GARDEN CITY, NY — Roosevelt Filed Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the country, has boarded up its doors and windows.

The action, caught on video, shows how far the fears of looting and rioting have spread. As New York City continues to deal with these problems, protests on Long Island have been peaceful. Barricades were also placed in front of some of the boarded-up entrances to the mall.

The Nassau County Police Department also responded to the mall on Monday night to protect it from possible looters, although there were none at the scene.
