Serial Rapist Sentenced For Child Porn, Exposing Himself To Women
The Long Island man, who was previously sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping women in NYC, gets more prison time for Nassau crimes.

A Long Island man who exposed himself to women, possessed hundreds of images and videos of child pornography and repeatedly raped two women was sentenced to more jail time by a Nassau County judge on Thursday.
Cameron McDermott, 32, of Hempstead, will serve 1 1/3 to four years in prison and must register as a sex offender after he pleaded guilty to possessing a sexual performance by a child and public lewdness on March 28. This sentence will run concurrently with the 10-year sentence he received last month for raping and sexually assaulting women in Manhattan.
“This sexual predator terrorized women throughout our region as he accumulated a despicable collection of child pornography at home,” Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas said. “Our community is safer with this menace behind bars where he belongs.”

On five separate occasions between September 2016 to January 2017, McDermott exposed himself to women in Garden City while asking for directions. In one case, he put on a wig, bra, yoga pants and makeup and approached a woman and asked her for directions. He then exposed himself and urinated on her until she fought him off and got in her car.
McDermott was arrested by the Garden City Police Department on Jan. 19, 2017. When he was arrested, he admitted to having child pornography. A search of his home found more than a thousand images and videos of child pornography on his computers, hard drives and a cell phone. Police also found files about the rape of two unconscious women.

The investigation revealed that McDermott had raped and sexually assaulted an unconscious woman in Manhattan on eight occasions in 2010. He also raped and sexually assaulted a second unconscious woman in the Upper East Side on five occasions in 2013. McDermott photographed and recorded himself assaulting both women.
Those cases in Manhattan were transferred to the New York County District Attorney's office, and McDermott pleaded guilty to first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse and was sentenced to prison for those crimes in April.
