The chic atmosphere is reigned by Mamos and her three daughters, Fotina Delaney, Nicolette and Tiffany Mamos, who encourage browsing and are readily available to assist shoppers.
“I first thought of starting a business during a meeting regarding my son’s schooling,” shared Christina Mamos. “As a special education student, he will be graduating and I wanted to start a family business where he could work. Envie has truly become a family affair. I love accessories because one piece can simply alter a whole outfit.”

Mamos wanted to bring something fresh and different to Seventh Street. To achieve that goal, Mamos researched and hand-picked all of the accessories. The shop is brimming with jewelry created by exclusive designers from all over the country and Europe, with an emphasis on quality and the latest trends. The boutique’s mainstay is fine costume jewelry, much of it gold plated or sterling silver and studded with elements such as glass, Swarovski crystals or semi-precious stones.
She was particularly interested in offering pieces to suit different tastes, styles and price points. “There is something for everyone including teens and children,” said Mamos.
Collections include pieces from Holly Yashi, an award winning artist from California who has been designing wearable art for over 30 years, whimsical creations by artist Lalo Orna of Lalo Treasures who turns everyday objects and memories into designed pieces and jewelry designer Michal Golin whose original designs fuse antique and contemporary styles.
Mamos also wanted to have fun with the merchandise, which explains rubber gloves fit for a queen designed with beautiful textiles along with stylish aprons.
Handbags, wraps and soon-to-be included leather accessories will round out the inventory.
On a typical shopping day, many enthusiastic shoppers stopped in to browse. One shopper, Gerry Castro, remarked how beautiful the merchandise displays were. Garden City resident Suzanne Fischer also complimented the original designs and unique pieces.
The Mamos family knew they didn’t want a mainstream boutique. When asked about the name of the boutique, Delaney shared that their name choice invokes that desire when you see something that appeals to you.
“It’s that feeling when you see something beautiful like a piece of jewelry on someone else and you covet it,” Delaney explained.
For the serious accessories aficionado or window shopper, this boutique may just become the envy of Garden City.
