Six Trojans Named to All-America Lax Teams

Three boys and three girls were named to the Under Armour All-America teams last week.

While the Garden City Trojans boys and girls lacrosse teams battle for two more Nassau County championships in the playoffs, six athletes from Garden City were honored last week after being named to the 2012 Under Armour All-America Lacrosse teams.

Midfielder Patric Berkery, attackman Devin Dwyer and goalie Dan Marino were all named to the boys team.

Berkery will be attending the University of Pennsylvania in the fall, Dwyer will be attending Harvard and Marino will be attending the University of Virginia.

Attackman Alexandra Bruno, midfielder Catherine Dickinson and goalie Megan McDonald were named to the girls team.

Bruno will be attending Princeton University in the fall, Dickinson will be attending the University of Pennsylvania and McDonald will be attending Georgetown University.

The three players selected on each team were tied for the most of any team in the country.

The Garden City boys team is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to Inside Lacrosse's most recent set of rankings. The team has held the top ranking for a majority of the 2012 season.

The boys team (16-0) defeated South Side 15-7 Friday, while the girls team (12-5) is fresh off of an 18-2 drubbing of Lynbrook in the first round of the playoffs.
