The restaurant business is a volatile industry. Many can't make it past the two-year mark.
But some restaurants that closed their doors enjoyed devoted followings. Think: Upper Crust Café, which said goodbye to Franklin Avenue late last year. The café treated residents to brunch and lunch for more than 25 years and most recently offered dinner before closing.
Dolci Café was an Italian café and eatery providing Garden City residents with breakfast, a wide variety of wraps and, its specialty, panini sandwiches. Dashing Diva, a nail salon, recently opened at the Franklin Avenue location.

Seventh Street's RoTico Rotisserie Cafe & Catering closed its doors in February 2010 while Hoffmann's, a Seventh Street staple, said goodbye to Garden City in March 2011 after spending nearly eight decades in the village. Village Deli is now open at that location.
