THC Tablets Found In Children's Book At Garden City Library: Police

Although police say it appears to be an isolated incident, the library will provide additional security to ensure safety.

GARDEN CITY, NY — A parent made an unexpected discovery in a children's book at the Garden City Public Library.

On Tuesday, the parent found a packet inside the book containing two over-the-counter tablets with the cannabis substance THC, the library administrator said.

The parent told a library staff member. The information was passed along to library security and the director, who contacted Garden City Police and Nassau County police also assisted.

Nothing else was found of concern during a search, the library said.

Police say it appears to be an isolated incident. But, library security will increase surveillance of the area, especially the children's sections.
