Suburbia is often depicted as picturesque, wholesome and orderly, a place of green lawns and healthy people. To many, Long Island seems a picture of suburban perfection, but deeper examination reveals some troubling facts about social health disparities that exist. With this in mind, Adelphi’s College of Nursing and Public Health in collaboration with the Center for Health Innovation present a look at the current state of public health in Nassau County.
An Introduction to Public Health in the Suburbs: An Adelphi University Summer Seminar is planned for Wednesday, July 24, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the Ruth S. Harley University Center, Thomas Dixon Lovely Ballroom located at 1 South Avenue in Garden City, NY.
