Two Burglars Caught In the Act Get Nabbed: Nassau Police
BREAKING: One alleged burglar was held at the scene by one of the residents until police arrived.

Nassau police arrested two men for a burglary in Uniondale Wednesday after residents of the home managed to restrain one of them.
According to police, they received a call for a home burglary in progress on Walton Avenue at 9:45 a.m.
The First Squad reports the details of two arrests for Burglary which occurred on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 9:45 am in Uniondale. When they arrived, police found Vitelio Cornejo, 34, of Howard Avenue, Roosevelt, being held at the scene by one of the residents of the house. He was placed under arrest without incident.

Police say that a second burglar, Marvin A. Segovia-Garcia, 32, of Thorne Avenue, Hempstead, advanced on one of the other residents of the home with a crowbar, but then fled on foot. Officers say they located Segovia-Garcia hiding in a wooded area east of James Doolittle Boulevard and placed him under arrest.
During the investigation, police determined that the two allegedly gained entry to the house by damaging the back door.

Both men are charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools. In addition, Segovia-Garcia is charged with second-degree assault and second-degree menacing. They are both scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
