MINEOLA, NY — A Uniondale man has been sentenced for brutally stabbing his 27-year-old housemate in Jan. 2021.
Oscar Rios-Perez, a.k.a. Alexis Flores, 33, was sentenced on Friday to 25 years in prison for fatally stabbing and dumping the body in garbage bags in front of his neighbor's house, Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly said.

In addition to the prison sentence, Rios-Perez was given five years of post-release supervision, Donnelly's office said.
"Oscar Rios-Perez stabbed and killed his housemate, Jesus Martinez, and heartlessly bagged up his body and dropped it in front of a neighbor’s house," Donnelly said. "The defendant tried to discard the evidence of his heinous crime and flee the state, but he couldn’t outrun law enforcement. Today’s sentence is a just outcome in this tragic story. Our thoughts continue to be with Jesus Martinez’s family at this time."
