GARDEN CITY, NY — GARDEN CITY, NY — The Inc. Village of Garden City released its crime report for the week ending Tuesday, March 10.

The items reported took place between March 4 and March 10 and are as follows:

Tuesday, 3/10:

  • A Garden City resident reported a petit larceny involving a package delivered to her home. She said that items were missing from the opened package, and the amount of loss was $134.97.
  • A resident of NYC reported a verbal dispute with another driver. Profanities were yelled, and neither party left their vehicles.

  • An identity theft was reported, involving the unauthorized
    use of a credit card, resulting in a financial loss.
  • A Franklin Ave business reported the larceny of hair care products that had occurred in the past.
  • GCPD and GCFD responded to an automatic fire alarm at Adelphi University that was activated by smoke in an elevator shaft.

Sunday, 3/8:

  • An identity theft was reported, involving a check that was claimed to be stolen and altered, causing financial loss.
  • An officer conducted a traffic stop of a speeding car on Clinton Rd. The driver was arrested after five suspensions on his license.
  • GCPD officers responded to a Clinton Rd. home for a report of a dispute with a repair contractor.

Saturday, 3/7:

  • Officers conducted a traffic stop of a car with switched license plates on Rockaway Ave. The driver was arrested after four suspensions on his license.
  • Identity theft was reported by a resident claiming her banking information was used to make an unauthorized withdrawal.

Friday, 3/6:

  • GCPD notified Nassau County Public Works of a large pothole on New Hyde Park Rd. that needed repair.
  • An officer conducted a traffic stop for a mismatched license plate. The driver was issued several VTL tickets and arrested after fifteen suspensions on his license.
  • A Franklin Ct. resident reported the larceny of a FedEx package.
  • GCPD, GCFD, and NYU Langone Ambulance responded to a two-car crash with reported injuries at Cathedral Ave. and Fourth St. A driver was arrested after DWI and related charges. The other driver was also injured.

Thursday, 3/5

  • GCFD and GCPD responded to a Franklin Ave. business regarding a stuck elevator with a person inside.

Wednesday, 3/4:

  • An officer observed a woman driving recklessly by passing a double yellow line. The woman was issued multiple VTLs, including a VTL misdemeanor for reckless driving.
  • Identity theft was reported by a resident who said checks were mailed, washed, altered, and cashed.
