Woman, Nassau Police Save Man From Jumping Off Roof
The man was trying to jump off the building head first, but was stopped by the woman and police officers.

A civilian woman and Nassau County police officers saved a distraught man from jumping off the roof of a building in Garden City Sunday afternoon.
According to police, officers responded to 1100 Stewart Ave. for a call of a distraught 25-year-old man who was threatening to jump from the roof. When police arrived, they saw the man talking with a woman. The man moved toward the edge of the building and the woman grabbed him. When she did, officers ran forward, and with the woman, wrestled the man off the edge as he was attempting to jump head first. The man was subdued and taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The woman, 24, suffered minor cuts and scrapes. She was treated at the scene. The police officers suffered injuries to their arms, knees and backs. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.
