Young Boy Shot After Being Attacked On Nassau Street: Report

Police say the eighth grade boy was confronted by three others and attacked, which ended with shots being fired.

A 12-year-old boy was shot in the pelvis after he was attacked by three people outside of a store in Hempstead, Newsday reported.

The boy, who was not identified, was walking on Franklin Street when he ran into the three others, Newsday reported, and they attacked him. The fight ended with one of the attackers firing two shots, one of which hit the 12-year-old.

Police were nearby, Newsday reported, and arrested two of the alleged attackers: Maicol Figueroa, 20, of Hempstead, and a 14-year-old boy. One of the attackers got away, police said.
