12 Rescued After Manhasset Rowing Team's Boat Capsizes in Hempstead Harbor

The Manhasset High School girls rowing team had their crew boat capsized by the wake of another boat Wednesday night in Hempstead Harbor, according to Glen Cove Police.

Glen Cove Harbor Patrol observed the wake of a vessel traveling without lights at 6:20 p.m. to cause the crew boat to overturn in the water. A total of 12 people were rescued from the harbor.

Glen Cove Harbor Patrol Officers notified firecom and ambulances were dispatched to check on the crew team. No injuries were reported.
