4 Glen Cove High School Students Win Photography Honors
Glen Cove High School students Michelle Bratcher, Elizabeth Ceriello, Michel Quezada-Cordova and Alexa Dominguez were recognized by the PSA.
GLEN COVE, NY -- From the Glen Cove City School District: The future of photography appears to be bright in Glen Cove. Four Glen Cove High School students earned honors for their work from the Photographic Society of America on the local and national levels following its Youth Showcase. Senior Alexa Dominguez, and juniors Michelle Bratcher, Elizabeth Ceriello and Michel Quezada-Cordova earned first, second and third place in different categories of the PSA's regional competition.
Ceriello won first place in the category People/Animals-Prints for her photo "Bird of Prey." Quezada-Cordova earned second in People/Animals-Digital for her work "Michelle With A Pearl Earring." Dominguez took third place in Architecture-Digital with her "Subway" entry. Bratcher's photo "Anticipation" was recognized as the first place entry under the category Photojournalism-Digital.
Quezada-Cordova's photograph went on to win first place in the national competition under the People/Animals category. She's won numerous awards for her photography throughout her high school career, a feat her family and photography teacher Melissa Johnides are proud of. Her photograph should soon be featured on the PSA's website.
