ALBANY, NEW YORK – Assemblymember Charles Lavine (D-North Shore) issued the following statement in response to anti-Muslim graffiti that was recently found on multiple stop signs near the Islamic Center of Deer Park:
“I am outraged over the recent act of hate against the Muslim community in Deer Park. This despicable act, like all acts of hate, is against us all. We must not stand idly by when confronted by acts of hate against anyone in our community, regardless of race or religion. Instead, we stand together, united, to defeat the primitive impulse that impels such violence. As Americans, that is our obligation and our responsibility.”
