LATTINGTOWN, NY — A firefighter suffered an injury and two people were displaced from their home after a Lattingtown house fire on Saturday, fire officials said.
Fire departments responded to a three-story home on Old Tappan Road at 1:25 p.m., the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.
The fire was brought under control within 50 minutes with approximately 75 firefighters battling it, fire marshals said.
One firefighter suffered a serious laceration to their arm, fire marshals said.
According to fire marshals, one person was at home and self-evacuated – the home was deemed uninhabitable, and two adults have been displaced.
Locust Valley Fire Department was assisted by mutual aid from Glen Cove, Sea Cliff, Glen Wood, Bayville, East Norwich, and Syosset, all under the command of Chief Bonislawski, fire marshals said.
NCFM's Office and NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad are investigating the cause of the fire, fire marshals said.
