• Glen Cove Woman Convicted After $900K Fraud, Claimed To Be Totally Disabled: DOJ (patch.com) — A former United States Postal Service worker from Glen Cove has been convicted of federal wire fraud for falsely claiming total disability and collecting more than $900,000 in benefits over nearly 25 years. Prosecutors say surveillance showed her doing everyday physical activities despite her claims of excruciating back pain. She now faces up to 20 years in prison and financial penalties.
• 16 New Districts Join the League of Innovative Schools (digitalpromise.org) — Glen Cove City School District has been selected to join the national Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools for the 2026–27 year, connecting local educators with cutting-edge ideas and peers nationwide. Membership gives district leaders access to in-person events, peer learning, and research-based pilots focused on more personalized, community-centered learning. This recognition highlights Glen Cove's commitment to equity, innovation, and preparing students for future careers.
