NASSAU COUNTY, NY — With the brisk autumn air, it's time to cozy up with a warm chai, steaming soup, and baked pie. Local farm stands are keeping fall favorites like apples, potatoes, corn, and more stocked this season.

Many Nassau County farm stands get their produce from their own backyards or from neighboring farms across Long Island, along with some imported out-of-state items.

From Long Island-grown corn and pears to colorful blooms and freshly-baked pies, here are a few Nassau County farm stands with some of the above:

Meyer's Farm and Greenhouses – This farm stand has homegrown peppers, string beans, Yukon gold potatoes, lettuce, sunflowers, and more.

Known for its fields of sunflowers in late August and September, even with cut-your-own, Meyer's Farm has a garden center with dozens of other seasonal blossoming flowers. The center is home to rows of vibrant florals like combo hanging baskets. Meyer's also has sweet treats like pies and desserts.

Youngs Farm – Its daily website updates featuring today's soups, muffins, sandwiches, and pies and cakes help set this farm stand out.

Some of its homegrown produce includes shishito peppers, carrots, eggplants, butternut squash, broccoli microgreens, and more. The farm also has homegrown florals like zinnias. For those with a sweet tooth, the farm's specials, as of Friday, include a pumpkin muffin, apple crisp pie, raspberry peach pie, and a chocolate almond torte.

Young's Farm is located at 91 Hegemans Lane in Old Brookville.

Rottkamp Brothers Farm – This neighboring farm to Youngs Farm is family-run. The Rottkamp family has been on Long Island for more than 100 years, providing Long Islanders with fresh produce and pumpkins.

Some of its produce includes tomatoes, cucumbers, beets, potatoes, garlic, and more.

Rottkamp Brothers Farm is located at McCouns Ln in Glen Head.

East Meadow Farm – This farm stand, run by Cornell Cooperative Extension, runs on Wednesdays and Fridays through the end of October.

The farm stand gets basil, butternut squash, cilantro, parsley, and more, all pesticide-free, from the Nassau County 4-H Farm. It gets its acorn squash, beets, cabbage, pears, corn, cauliflower, apples, and more from local farms conventionally. The East Meadow farm stand also has local fruit jams and spreads on a limited-quantity basis.

East Meadow Farm is located at 832 Merrick Avenue in East Meadow.
