Bites Nearby: Andros Grill Pizza & Gyro

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Glen Cove Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

This restaurant truly lives up to its title as “Authentic Greek Cuisine.” Their convenient downtown location, efficient and prompt service and – above all –great-tasting food combines to make a terrific overall dining experience.

Bring friends or family; choose to eat-in or take out. Delivery is available with a minimum order of $10. 

The food is flavorful and fun. Their homemade hummus is highly recommended. The spinach pie appetizer is warm and flaky; the falafel, authentic-tasting and cooked to perfection. Be sure to have a hearty appetite if ordering a gyro, whether it be their lamb and beef, souvlaki (pork), chicken or a combination. Each are made to the customer’s liking. The chicken gyro, complete with all fixins, is loaded with delicious chunks of grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and yogurt sauce.

Andros Grill is not limited to Mediterranean cuisine. Their menu also boasts Italian and American fare, such as pizza, hamburgers, steak and French fries.

All catering orders come with bread, pita bread or garlic knots.
