Join us for the official opening of our US 250th anniversary exhibit, exploring why the colonies broke from Britain and how the North Shore of Long Island experienced the Revolutionary War and British occupation. The exhibit features numerous historical books paired with expanded descriptive text that explains the North Shore’s role in the conflict—from local soldiers at the Battle of Long Island to families who evacuated across the Sound to Connecticut. Visitors will also enjoy a special section displaying photographs and a commemorative flag from Glen Cove’s 1976 Bicentennial celebration, connecting our community’s past and present in honoring America’s fight for independence.
Please RSVP so we can best plan refreshments.
