Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club to Host Breast & Gynecological Health Education

(Locust Valley, NY) Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club, in partnership with Glen Cove Hospital, will host a community education program focused on Breast & Gynecological Health: Prevention, Early Detection & Cancer Awareness on Tuesday, October 6, beginning at 6:00pm at Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club.

The program will feature Dr. Marilena Cooperman and Dr. Susan Palleschi, who will lead an informative conversation about proactive steps women can take to protect their health, reduce cancer risk, and recognize potential warning signs.

The event will address important topics related to breast and gynecological health, including:

Breast Health & Cancer Prevention

• Recommended mammography and breast cancer screening
• Healthy lifestyle choices that may help reduce cancer risk
• Recognizing breast changes and knowing when to speak with a healthcare provider

Gynecological Health & Cancer Prevention

• HPV vaccination and cervical cancer prevention
• Recommended Pap and HPV screening
• Recognizing symptoms such as unusual bleeding, pelvic pain, or persistent bloating

The discussion will also emphasize the importance of early detection, understanding family health history, maintaining healthy lifestyle habits, staying current with recommended screenings, and paying attention to changes in one's body.
