Cops: Greenvale Man Arrested for Weapons, Drugs

The man told police responding to a 911 call that he had a rifle in his home, and told officers to go inside and look, officials said.

A Greenvale man found to have firearms and drugs was arrested at his home Thursday evening, authorities said.

Nassau police say they received a 911 call about a man with a gun a home on Carl Street. When police arrived, they were met by Donald Miller, 51. Saying he had a rifle in the house, Miller then told officers to go inside and look.

Once inside, officers saw “in plain view” an AK-47, SKS rifle, a Marlin rifle, a Colt semi-automatic .380 caliber pistol and seven clear bags containing what is believed to be cocaine, according to a news release.

Miller was placed under arrest without incident. Police also found two daggers, a switchblade and ammunition for the Colt handgun, officials said.

Miller is charged with eight counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was scheduled for arraignment on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
