Downtown Halloween Parade Draws Record Crowds

Glen Cove, NY- The beautiful Halloween weather encouraged all sorts of creatures to come out and play, as the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District’s annual Halloween Parade turned School and Glen Streets into a trick-or-treat magnet.
The day started with the Regency at Glen Cove’s thrilling Spooky Story Hour; marchers lined up just before 1PM to follow a float decorated by volunteers from the Glen Cove High School DECA Club through downtown, then visited welcoming merchants for trick-or-treat goodies.
The Fun Bus mobile gym kept kids sliding, climbing and running for multiple trips through its interior, while game tables featured Halloween fun such as “Dizzy Mummy”, “Vampire (marshmallow) Bite” and “Spider Ring Toss”.
Congratulations to Costume Contest winners “Oompa-Loompa” Raphael Migerian, Aurora (Rory) Seery, “ Vending Machine” Alexandra Basile, “Airplane and Pilot” Charlie Guastella, and “Snowflake” Rachel Solomon! We would like to thank our judges, Yolanda Ferguson of AvalonBay Communities, and Keith Way of our Downtown Sounds Committee, for their services.
Eight pies were demolished by our hungry Pie-Eating Contestants, with Douaa Ahmed and Michaela Adam first and second to finish their pies in sixty seconds, no hands allowed!
