East Woods Summer Camp - New Programs!

Held on the beautiful 46-acre campus of East Woods School in Oyster Bay, the East Woods Summer Programs offer special experiences for every type of camper from age 2 to age 15.The camp is excited to announce the addition of four new programs this summer:  Ovations Musical Theater, Serious Science Camp with Jane Powel, Lacrosse and Soccer Clinics, and a 2’s Program for our youngest campers.  They have also revamped the Junior Counselor Program for 13 - 15 year old campers.The Ovations Musical Theater program is the perfect option for your future Broadway star.  This program is designed to teach and encourage confidence on stage and in life. Theater Jazz, Hip Hop, voice and acting classes will be given by the dynamic staff of talented actors and dancers from Ovations Dance at East Woods.  If you have a budding scientist at home, Serious Science Camp with Jane Powel is a wonderful option.  Jane Powel and her team of scientists, educators, and PhD’s, will provide serious science instruction for campers age 5 and up.  Younger students will participate in hands-on labs, and will be exposed to the wonders of scientific exploration and discovery.  Older students will be given individualized attention from Jane Powel, President & CEO of OMNILEARN Corp., and her highly qualified staff.  They can help your camper create a unique and high-level science project, work with him or her to expand upon an existing project, or can help your camper prepare for Intel or LISEF.  Your camper will have the added benefit of access to the state-of-the-art science and technology labs at East Woods School.  The Lacrosse and Soccer Clinics are available for half the day, while the other half can be spent in the Ovations Musical Theater, Serious Science Camp or the traditional East Woods Discovery Summer Camp.  The skills and drills clinics will provide the intensive focus on Lacrosse and Soccer your athlete needs to improve his or her game and confidence.During the 2’s Program, your little one will create art projects in the East Woods Pre-Nursery classroom, go to the library and music class, play on the playground and run in the sprinklers.  Potty training is not required.The Junior Counselor program answers the question: “What do we do with our 13, 14, or 15 year old who has outgrown being a camper but is too young to be a counselor?”   Junior Counselors attend three classes a day that are tailored for this age group, while fulfilling the duties of a Counselor in Training.   The camp is pleased to offer a travel component to the Junior Counselor program where campers will leave campus once a week for day-trips around Long Island.East Woods is also proud to offer the traditional Discovery Program for boys and girls up to age 15.  With a range of activities including instructional swim, art, music, cooking, archery, cheerleading, gymnastics, builder’s club, chess, and indoor and outdoor sports and games, the Discovery camp offers activities for every type of camper.  With a focus on safety, fun and learning, and with an impressive camper-to-counselor ratio, theDiscovery Program at East Woods is an affordable and easy option for summer.  Whether your child is an athlete, an artist, a performer, a scientist, or is interested in a well-rounded camp experience, East Woods can help you to create the best possible summer program.East Woods School is an independent, co-educational Pre-Nursery through 8th Grade school, including a full-day Kindergarten program and summer programs.  East Woods School is located on 46-acres in Oyster Bay, NY.For additional information, please contact Nick Mercurio at discovery@eastwoods.org or visitwww.eastwoods.org.http://http//glencove.macaronikid.com/article/698486/eastwoods-summer-camp-programs
