Bards Reading From Page One, featuring Madly Loved!

Come, one and all, to the Bards Reading From Page One poetry reading series, sponsored by The Bards Initiative! We run at Page One on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, with a new feature every time, followed by an open read where everybody's welcome to read with open arms!

Bards Reading From Page One is a fun, intimate reading, with few formailites and even fewer rules. We welcome all forms and styles of poetry equally, including whatever yours might be, so there's no excuse not to come by!

This time, our feature is one who, for poets on the Island, needs little introduction. If you don't fall in love with his poetry the first time you hear it, you'll certainly end up loving HIM, which is why we call him Madly Loved! Yes, that's right, our next feature is Antonio "Madly Loved" Bellia!

As always, get here at 7:30 to order food and put your name down for the open reading at the end, because we go on with the show at 8!

This Bards Initiative reading series is free to attend, but your donations are greatly appreciated, every penny of which goes directly to funding our various ongoing projects throughout Long Island. In addition, head chef and co-owner Jeanine DiMenna offers up a special $5 "bar menu" at all of our readings (if you'd prefer to see their standard fare menu, price fix, or reduced-fare "bailout" menu, please ask your server). We highly encourage you to come, relax, and enjoy some dinner with your poetry.

The Bards Initiative is a multi-purpose poetry project dedicated to providing avenues for poets to share their work and encourages the use of poetry for social change. In addition, the Initiative aims to make use of modern technologies to help spread, encourage and inspire poetry particularly in the younger generations. It is the core belief of the Bards Initiative that poetry is the voice of the people and can be used to help create a sense of sharing and community.

Thank you, and I hope to see you all at our readings.
