Reading of Beastly Feasts! + Author Signs Books

Friday, November 12 at 4 p.m.

Have you heard about the gnus? Or the lobsters and boars? What about the bears, sloths, or the pelican named George?  If you haven't heard, the whole animal kingdom is roaring its approval for Beastly Feasts! This collection of delectable rhymes about animals naughty and nice with zany illustrations of each featured creature, is sure to entertain and pique the imagination of the littlest child.

Beastly Feasts! A Mischievous Menagerie in Rhyme, NCMA's latest exhibition in the Art Space for Children, is based on the imaginative writings of Robert L. Forbes. On display are the original fanciful illustrations created for the book by artist Ronald Searle.

A party to celebrate the exhibition will be held on Saturday, October 2 at 3:30. It is free with museum admission. No reservations needed. This party will also mark the end of Cycling for Kids & Art, Board Member L. Ronald S. Gray's bicycle tour from Greenport, an event that benefits the museum's plan to expand and enhance the present Art Space for Children. The Art Space is the finish line for Gray's 85-mile tour; he is scheduled to arrive at 3:30 p.m. Be there to help Gray celebrate!

In a special afterschool treat, on Friday, November 12 at 4 pm, the museum offers a reading of Beastly Feasts! Additionally, the book's author, Robert L. Forbes, will be on hand to sign copies of his book. The reading and the book signing are free with museum admission; no reservations needed.

Nassau County Museum of Art is located at One Museum Drive (just off Northern Boulevard, Route 25A, two traffic lights west of Glen Cove Road) in Roslyn Harbor. The Art Space for Children is open Tuesday-Sunday, 12 pm-4:30 pm. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for children 4-12. Members and children under 4 are free. There is a $2 weekend parking fee.
