Critical Thinking: 12 in "12"

What happens when you gather a group of local artists who share insights, critique one another, and support each other in their craft?  You find yourself with a talented group of dynamic contemporary artists called “The Critique Group of Long Island”, whose goal is to bring their works to higher levels of professional accomplishment. The Art League of Long Island looks forward to exhibiting a compilation of their works, titled “Critical Thinking:  12 in’12”, in the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery June 22 through July 8. An artists’ reception will take place on Friday, June 29 at 7pm.

The Critique Group of Long Island consists of award-winning local artists whose body of work ranges from realism to abstraction to conceptual installation, executed in mediums including oil and acrylic painting, photography, collage and assemblage.  The Critique Group meets monthly at the Creative Arts Studio of Sea Cliff where discussion of artwork includes current practices and goals in the context of art history and contemporary gallery and museum exhibitions.
