On Saturday, July 24, Morgan Park Summer Music Festival will continue with an evening of Latin pop featuring The Cuban Cigars. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Morgan Park in Glen Cove and is free to the public.
Long Island’s own Cuban Cigars performs Latin jazz with an Anglo twist that includes lively pop styles of many cultures and many eras. The company includes singer Jackie Kolata, percussionist David Clive, guitarist Terry Geist, bassist Todd Roberto, drummer Rich Shapiro and Music Director Rob Spano on keyboards. The band has performed at venues and music festivals across Long Island. In an added special for Morgan Park Summer Music Festival, the performance includes a 20-minute presentation of electrifying flamenco music and dance.
So, plan on coming down to Morgan Park for an evening of Latin pop under the stars. Bring a blanket or chairs and picnic if you wish. Morgan Park is located on Germaine Street at the end of Landing Road in Glen Cove. In the event of rain, the concerts will be held in St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, Pearsall Avenue, Glen Cove.
