GCHS Softball Workshop A Smash Hit at Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club
Glen Cove High School Varsity Softball team, along with coaches Kim Kessel and Angela Zupa, hosted a fun and exciting clinic for GCBGC.

This was the third consecutive year in a row the team and coaches volunteered their time and effort to hold a Softball workshop teaching Club members all about the game and how to improve their techniques and abilities on the ball field. Softball teammates took the lead, facilitating skills and drills stations with members including agility, batting, catching throwing and fielding. “We look forward to it each year. Our team enjoys teaching the fundamentals of softball, but most importantly team work,” said Coach Kessel. Club members were eagerly enthusiastic. “It’s really exciting to play with the team, they showed us how to improve and encouraged us to work hard,” said Celeste, C., 11 who has participated in all three workshops.
The event took place at the Glen Cove High School Varsity field on Tuesday, April 3. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the coaches, the team and GCBGC staff, the event was a valuable learning experience for 25 Club members who participated in the clinics with great interest and energy.
