Glen Cove Beautification Commission Plants Tulips for Breast Cancer

Glen Cove Community Unites to Plant 3,000 Tulips for Breast Cancer Awareness

Glen Cove, NY - The Glen Cove Beautification Commission, in collaboration with the City of Glen Cove and Glen Cove Cares, recently organized a large-scale tulip planting event to promote Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention.

On October 5, Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck, Deputy Mayor Donna McNaughton, City Council Liaison Michael Ktistakis, and former City Councilwomen Barbara Bella-Peebles and Eve Lupenko-Ferrante joined approximately 60 volunteers, including local students and Department of Public Works staff, to plant 3,000 pink tulips.

"It's inspiring to see our community join forces to plant these 3,000 tulips, representing hope and strength in the journey to fight breast cancer. A heartfelt thank you to the Glen Cove Beautification Commission and all the incredible volunteers who made this possible!" said Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck.

This annual initiative aims to increase awareness and prevention of breast cancer. The event also provided an opportunity for local students to contribute to their community.

"I'm so proud of my son, Panagioti, 13, and all the students who helped beautify our city. Thank you to the Glen Cove Beautification Commission for giving our kids the chance to make a difference. It was a wonderful experience!" said Stacey Karathanasis.

The Glen Cove Beautification Commission would like to extend special thanks to all the volunteers, particularly the students, who participated in this meaningful event.
