Club members Fatima P.A., Gabriel C-M., Aiden B. and Aron A. have demonstrated outstanding conduct and respectful demeanor towards Club and staff, earning them the Youth of the Month recognition for February and March.
Eight-year-old Fatima P.A. and ten-year-old Gabriel C-M. were selected for February. Fatima is in the third grade and excels at Math and writing. Fatima hopes to become a chef some day and combine her love of food with her artistic talents. She also has a backup career plan to become an elementary school teacher. She first joined the Club through the Summer program and since then continued membership for the school year. For Fatima, the Club has been a welcoming pathway to making new friendships, and she takes great joy in helping other kids to feel as comfortable as she is at the Club. Fifth grader Gabriel C-M. is also a gifted writer and finds the art of writing a great way to express sentiment. Gabriel’s plan is to become a lawyer but for now is happy playing sports and having fun with his friends at the Club. “The Club is a place where everyone helps you and we are encouraged to just be who you are.”
For March, Aiden and Aron were the selected outstanding youth. New Club member Aiden is in the first grade and aspires to become a police officer. While his favorite subjects in school are math and reading, he is not shy in expressing how much he appreciates recess. He is also sporty and enjoys playing baseball and soccer. Aiden loves going camping with his family and sitting by a campfire roasting marshmallow. Family means a lot to him, and the Club is especially dear to him because his friends and relatives are also members. “The Club makes me happy.” Aron, thirteen, is a polite young teen who dreams of becoming a car designer. He is already learning as much as he can about the mechanics and engineering of cars to truly understand how automobiles work. He excels at math and studies hard because he believes “excelling in school is the key to becoming a responsible adult working towards a successful future”. For Aron, success is more than just financial independence, it means he can help take care of his family and that is the driving force that keeps him focused on education and studying hard. In addition to academics, Aron makes wellness a priority by eating healthy and exercising on a regular basis. He has been a member for almost a year and looks forward to working at the Club when he turns sixteen. “Honesty, helping people, sharing, friendship, that is what the Club means to me.”
