Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club Receive Care Kits from Congregation Tifereth Israel

Congregation Tifereth Israel of Glen Cove, a pluralistic congregation honoring all Jewish traditions and spiritual journeys, and a proponent for social action is helping to enhance the lives of Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club teens.
The congregation, focused on teen health and wellness, donated personal self-care kits including a variety of products and toiletries, along with informative literature on how to lead healthy lifestyles, for more than 50 of the Club’s teen members.
“The timing of this contribution is ideal as we are on the cusp of our Summer Youth Employment Training workshops where our teens have the unique opportunity to learn fundamental career development skills and how to prepare and present themselves for the working environment. Personal hygiene and self-care are crucial components of these workshops and teens learn that confidence and self-esteem are greatly impacted by how we present ourselves to others and how they perceive us,” said Breanna Townsell, GCBGC Teen Program Director.

“We are very grateful to Congregation Tifereth Israel for dedicating their time and efforts on our teens. Our youth truly appreciate community involvement and it encourages them to give back to their community that shows so much care and concern for their health and well-being,” said Desirae O’Neill, GCBGC Associate Director.
