Glen Cove City School Budget Preview, Candidates On Ballot For 2026-2027
See what's on the ballot, including the school budget and school board candidates, before you head to the polls on Tuesday.

GLEN COVE, NY — Glen Cove residents are set to head to the polls on Tuesday, May 19, to vote on the Glen Cove City School District budget, tax increase, and candidates.
Folks can vote from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Connolly School and Glen Cove High School, depending on their location. More information can be found online.
The 2026-2027 proposed budget is $122,314,624, an increase of 3.55 percent from the current 2025-2026 $118,123,184.

The budget carries a tax levy increase of 2.42 percent, which is at the District's allowable cap.
Voters will elect two candidates to the Trustees of the Board of Education. The terms will run from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.

Angela Raimo, Maria Elena Venuto, and Robert Nosek are running for one of the two seats.

In a Knightline newsletter, the district outlined what they hope to preserve with this proposed budget.
- Not increasing class sizes to save on staffing costs.
- Not cutting teacher and staff positions to save staffing costs and combine classes.
- Maintaining college-credit aligned classes (AP & Dual Enrollment Courses).
- No cuts to athletics or extracurricular activities.
They also shared academic, athletic, and extracurricular achievements.
- 141 GCHS studentsearned the distinction of AP Scholar for their exceptional examperformance.
- 51 GCHS students were nominated for BigFuture Awards through the College Board National Recognition Program,
- GCHS Yearbook Club received national honors in the Entourage Yearbooks competition.
- The Boys Varsity Golf Team earned the NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete Team Award, with one senior awarded the Charles Evans Scholarship covering full tuition and housing.
- In partnership with Northwell Glen Cove Hospital, 58 GCHS students participated in the Junior Volunteers Academy, gaining hands-on experience in patient care.
