Glen Cove Fans Cheer on the Giants

Local residents among huge crowds who turn out for Super Bowl parade.

Glen Cove residents were among the hundreds of thousands who turned out Tuesday to cheer on the New York Giants at their Super Bowl victory parade. 

They lined the streets of the Canyon of Heroes in Lower Manhattan tossed footballs to their favorite players, danced salsa steps, waved signs and cheered mightily as  the NFL champs rode to City Hall where they were awarded keys to the city.

"It was awesome, we saw all the players we like: Tuck, Manning holding the trophy, Ballard. it was a good time to celebrate the Giants victory," said John Macchione from Glen Cove.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other dignitaries joined the parade and City Hall festivities before the Giants left for another party at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
