Glen Cove FD to Hold Open House This Month

The community is invited to watch the professionals at work and get a tour of the firehouse at the Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department’s Open House on Sunday, Oct. 23.

The Open House will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at 10 Glen Cove Ave. rain or shine.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

• Go on fire truck rides
• Check out fire demonstrations
• Go on a tour
• Get smoke detector tutorials
• Enjoy free refreshments

The National Association of Fire Prevention works with fire departments across the country to promote Fire Prevention Month each October. Fire Prevention Month promotes awareness of fire prevention methods and safety procedures in communities. It was originally established to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 that killed more than 250 people.

This Open House in Glen Cove is hosted by the Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department, Glen Cove Volunteer EMS and Glen Cove Harbor Patrol.
