“This has been a great team experience and wonderful sustainability initiative to provide the freshest ingredients to our food and nutrition team to disperse throughout the hospital,” Eric Sieden, director of food and nutrition services at Glen Cove Hospital, said in a press release.
The garden will be maintained by the hospital’s food and nutrition services team. The original garden was planted in the rear courtyard in the early 2000s by the hospital’s food and nutrition leaders and some volunteers.
