Glen Cove Incinerator Demolition Is Underway

Demolition is set to be completed by mid-August.

Demolition of the Glen Cove Incinerator began this week as an effort to create clean use facilities on the south side of Glen Cove creek.

The incinerator structure is 300 ft. long by 250 feet wide, 90 feet tall and 20 feet deep.

Mayor Reggie Spinello and Glen Cove Department of Public Works Director Jim Byrne were on the scene as the demolition began.

“Demolition is set to be completed by mid-August by Total Wrecking, the general contractor for the project,” Spinello said in a press release.
